Everything about Jatinegara totally explained

Jatinegara is a subdistrict (kecamatan) of East Jakarta, Indonesia. The subdistrict is divided into 8 administrative villages (kelurahan): Bali Mester, Bidaracina, North Cipinang Besar, South Cipinang Besar, Cipinang Cempedak, Cipinang Muara, Kampung Melayu, and Rawa Bunga.
   In Dutch colonial era, Jatinegara was the capital city of regency known as Meester Cornelis. The Jatinegara regency covered of Bekasi, Cikarang, Matraman, and Kebayoran.
   The Jatinegara Railway Station and Cipinang rice market are located in the subdistrict.
